Exceptional Community Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Full-Time Night Shift House Supervisor.
This is a hands-on leadership position combining Emergency Department nursing with facility-wide night shift supervision. The House Supervisor provides leadership and clinical support to both the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical Unit while helping coordinate staffing, patient flow, and hospital operations throughout the shift.
We are looking for an experienced RN who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, confident leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to supporting the entire healthcare team.
What You'll Do
As the Night Shift House Supervisor, you will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department while serving as a clinical, operational, and leadership resource throughout the hospital.
- Provide safe, high-quality Emergency Department nursing care, including assessment, triage, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency interventions.
- Serve as the hospital's nursing leadership resource during the night shift and act as the administrative representative when hospital administration is not present.
- Maintain awareness of patient status, census, staffing needs, and significant events throughout the hospital.
- Provide clinical support and guidance to nursing staff in both the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical Unit.
- Assist with direct patient care and respond to changes in patient condition, codes, and other emergency situations as needed.
- Coordinate staffing based on patient census, acuity, staff skills, and clinical needs.
- Address call-ins and assist with securing appropriate staffing coverage when needed.
- Coordinate bed assignments, admissions, transfers, and patient placement based on clinical needs and available resources.
- Communicate significant clinical, staffing, patient, or operational concerns to appropriate leadership.
- Respond professionally to patient and family concerns and support staff in resolving patient-care issues.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration among nursing, providers, ancillary departments, and hospital leadership.
- Serve as a resource regarding hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support patient safety, quality improvement, and appropriate utilization of hospital resources.
- Foster a professional, accountable, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Oklahoma RN license or Compact RN license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- 2+ years of Emergency Department Experience.
- Med-Surg experience preferred.
- Previous charge nurse or nursing leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to meet clinical competency requirements for both Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical nursing.
- Strong emergency assessment, triage, cardiac monitoring, and critical-care skills.
- Strong leadership, critical-thinking, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions during high-acuity, emergency, staffing, and operational situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide direction, resolve concerns professionally, and utilize the appropriate chain of command.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
- Commitment to teamwork and willingness to provide hands-on clinical support when needed.

- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts
